Food Tip Overate at one meal? Go light on the next. By balancing your day’s meals, you can indulge occasionally without gaining weight.

It’s unlikely that you’ll gain weight from just one piece of pie — unless that pie is followed by extra helpings of steak and mashed potatoes. To avoid weight gain without depriving yourself, enjoy the occasional splurge. Remember to slow down and savor the taste of your food. When you stop to focus on the flavors and textures, you’re able to feel more satisfied while eating less. If you do overeat at one meal, go light on the next to balance out your total food intake for the day.
